San José de Chiquitos is the capital of the Chiquitos Province, it is situated at the southern end of the Jesuit Mission Circuit. It is a dusty old town but at its centre there is a beautifully unique mission church that takes up one whole side of the main plaza. The church is open to visitors from 6am – 9pm every day.

Getting there
You can reach San José de Chiquitos by train from Santa Cruz, from there you can visit the other settlements to the north by micro-bus.
