This small village is located on the western shore of Lago Todos Los Santos. Petrohué has a very modest history, dating back to the early twentieth century. Tourism here was started by Ricardo Roth, who took some tourists across the lakes between Puerto Varas and Bariloche, which led to construction of two hotels.
But unlike those days, nowadays Petrohué a bit of hole, with many problems like biting insects during the summer, shouting children and libidinous adolescents. There are some facilities and amenities provided, like boat renting services, post office and so on. Accommodation is also provided, including hotels and lodges. And not to forget camping, where the campsite is on the beach.
