Lago Blanco is located in the southern region of Isla Grande, and unlike the northern part of the island, it is more beautiful, and covered with forests where you can go trekking, fishing, and camping. Most of the time, this area is neglected because people usually go to Ushuaia. Lago Blanco is famously known for steep hills of forests and snow covered mountains. There is a lake which is under development, eventually it will have romantic fishing lodges in the middle, on an island.
Getting there
The traffic here is very clear so it's worth renting a car. There are also other means of getting to Lago Blanco, like buses, but driving is more fun. You will go through beautiful roads along the coast, starting from Bahia Inutil all the way down passing many unique places like Onaisin, the coastal roads facing Isla Dawson, Cameron, and many other beautiful, natural treats like the Magellanic forest, occasionally interspersed with open grassland, a national monument which was once a gold dredge, and a modest fishermen village.
