A short way to the west of Bogotá lies the Parque Nacional Chicaque, a private nature reserve. It's only a small park, about 3sq km in all, but it is a lovely place to wander around. The park is almost completely made up of cloud forest and is absolutely teeming with birds.

Getting there
To reach the park you need to catch a bus from the centre of Bogotá and then hop off at the plaza in Soacha. From there you can take a taxi the rest of the way, it's not very expensive.
