Santuario de Iguaque is a large reserve in the mountainous region to the north-east of Villa de Leyva. The park is dotted with numerous mountain lakes, the most important being Lago de Iguaque. The Muiscas believe that all of mankind were born from this sacred lake.

Getting there
Catch the bus that runs between Villa de Leyva and Arcabuco, jump off when you reach Los Naranjos. From there it's about a 3 hour walk, uphill, to the visitors centre.
