With a small population of only 1500 people, this town is quite sleepy. Located some 10km north-west of Barichara, nothing much happens here. Nonetheless the small town is worth visiting, especially for the beautiful views and the majestic main square, with a beautiful rural church.
Sightseeing
This church is called the Santa Lucia Iglesia and it was built in 1720. Besides the church there are also other places to visit in this town. The most notable is the Museum of Paleontology & Archeology, which has a collection of fossils and Guane artefacts. Sometimes personal tours are available, provided by the curator. If you find the front door locked, then just wait there for him.
Getting there
There are buses travelling from Barichara twice a day. Alternatively you can walk along the old, restored Spanish trail for about one and a half hours to reach here.
