The small town of Filandia is considered the best preserved pueblo paisa in Quindio. It is located some 30km north of Armenia and has a population of about 4,500 people. Easily accessible by minibus, it doesn’t take long to reach. The town is notable for its brightly painted houses, dating from the beginning of the 20th century. These houses are nicely set in rows along the streets, with some modern buildings here and there. The popular night-time soap opera, Café, used this place as a backdrop. In fact the popularity of the town only grew after the drama.
