This part of the world is comparable to Switzerland, only it’s more lush. It is covered by a wide, green valley floor surrounded by sharp peaks. This valley stretches from Salento eastwards to the hamlet of Cocora and beyond. Walking around you will discover the hills covered with the palma de cera, or wax palm. The area where the trees meet the clouds is really something worth seeing. The most beautiful part is downhill over the Río Quindio, where you'll get to see strange plant life, and if you walk a little further there are breathtaking sceneries awaiting you.
