The town of Paraíso has nothing much to offer to tourists. Located some 8km away from the provincial capital, it has become part of the urbanization process. There is hardly any nice scenery in the town, for most of it is houses made of concrete. The only attraction around here is the Orosí Valley, especially the Mirador Orosí, which is located a few kilometres outside Paraíso on the way to Orosí. Only here is there some nice scenery and places worth taking photos of.
Sightseeing
Visit the Lankerster Garden, which is run by the University of Costa Rica. This garden was opened some 90 years ago, and today there are about 800 orchids on display during peak times, especially from February to April. Besides orchids, you can also find many other plants like bromeliads, palms, secondary tropical forests, heliconias, and many more. You can arrange for guided tours around. Finca Cristina is another attraction here, where you can see live organic coffee farming, and the process of roasting too, although you have to book before going.
