Playa Herradura was not very well-known in the past, but after the movie “1492”, in which it was featured, it became instantly famous and money started to pour in. In the past it was limited to some rural areas and the sandy beaches popular among campers, but now the place has almost everything from condominiums to the most expensive hotels in the country. The development is further enhanced because the city of Jacó is located nearby. Until today, the beautiful tranquil waters and beach scenes still attract locals and tourists.
