If you’re into ecology, hot springs and gold, Juntas is one location that you should mark on your map of places to go while you’re in Cost Rica. You can get to Juntas by taking a bus from Cañas, and you can walk the 3km to the Ecomuseo de las Minas de Abargares. There are many tours that go down into abandoned gold mines or you can walk the trails of the area and do some wildlife watching.
