If you want a break from the overcrowded Playa Flamingo but don’t want to go too far, hop over the rocky bluff to the pleasant little bay area of Bahía Potrero. The bay is the perfect place to get away from the sounds of people and get back to the sounds of the monkeys. There are few accommodations at Potrero but there are three beaches - Playa Prieta, Playa Penca and Playa Potrero, and a diving spot - Isla Santa Catalina, within the bay. Buses don’t go all the way into Potrero, so if you’re looking for a nice stroll, quiet accommodations and deserted beaches, Bahia Potrero is the destination for you.
