Isla San Lucas lies to the north-west of Costa Rica. It was once used as a penal colony but has now been revamped and turned into a luxury resort.

Getting there
To get there you can catch a lancha from Puntarenas, they leave every Sunday at 9am and return at 3pm. You can also arrange a visit as part of a tour from San José.
