Just off the coast of the Nicoya Peninsula, near Paquera, Isla Tortuga is actually made up of two beautiful, uninhabited islands. These islands are paradise on earth with their pristine white beaches and their thick lush forests. It’s best to visit during the week when there aren’t as many day trippers spoiling the view.

Getting there
You can get to the islands by boat from Puntarenas. You can also arrange a tour from San José but it is probably cheaper to go on tour from Tambor or Montezuma.
