Widely regarded as the most beautiful beach in Costa Rica, Playa Conchal, just 2km south of Brasilito, boasts intense, turquoise-blue ocean water, making it the perfect spot for snorkelling. The name comes from the billions of shells which wash up on the beach, and are slowly crushed by tourists’ flip flops.

Dangers and Annoyances
The beach is bounded on the north-side by a large resort with a long-winded name, which can make access to the beach frustratingly difficult but you can stay in Brasilito and walk south along the road for 2km.
