If you’re looking for an island paradise you should hit the beach next to Playa San Miguel, Playa Coyote. One of the most beautiful and cleanest beaches in Costa Rica—mostly due its extreme lack of visitors—Playa Coyote is just across the peninsula from Playa San Miguel and sits on the Río Jabillo, so if you’re already in the area, you might as well hike, swim, wade or kayak over. You’ll find snorkelling, diving, surfing and self-sufficiency camping here, but you’ll also find some hotels with running hot water and restaurants with wireless Internet, serving Italian and also traditional Tico food.
