Perfect for surfers and conservationists alike, with plenty of room and activities for both, is the Playa Grande, located just down the southwesterly road from Huacas. If you love to get in touch with nature then this is the place for you. During the day, the beach is riddled with surfers trying to show each other up, but at night, leather-back sea turtles take over the shoreline. There are few accommodations here and those available are set far off from the shoreline so most visitors opt to stay in Tamarindo, since it’s easy to hitch a ride to the beach.
