Need to make a quick pit stop on your way to or from Puntarenas? Playa Naranjo is the perfect place to kick up your feet for a moment between the long rides on the buses and ferries, especially if it’s hot and stuffy outside (which it always is). You can reach this tiny village by ferry, by bus from Nicoya or Montezuma, or by car from Paquera—although you could arguably walk from Paquera. There are a few hotels for weary travellers and a few good sodas that provide excellent scheduling information for the ferries and buses. You’ll also find shaved ice and goodies, but no really good reasons to stick around.
