Playa Negra, with some of the most consistent waves in the area, provides some of the best surfing along the coastline.

Getting there
The beach begins 15km south of Tamarindo and is reached via a poor dirt road. You will need a 4x4 to gain access most of the year. If you don’t have transport, surf shops in Tamarindo will organize trips or any local will give you a lift, bargain hard though.
