Just south of the Playa Bejuco, you’ll find yourself standing on the warm and pristine sands of one of the most beautiful beaches in all of Costa Rica. You can get to Playa San Miguel by kayaking up the shoreline, walking or hitching a ride from one of the other beaches—no buses go here—and it’s worth the journey. Mostly abandoned, the beach is home to undisturbed wave breaks for sea-loving surfers and is frequented by olive ridley sea turtles. There are three good hotels with hot water, although you can camp here if you’re self-sufficient, and the nearby sodas have awesome beer and bocas for your refreshment.
