When visiting Tambor, take some time out from surfing for whale watching. This beach and its neighbour, Pochote, are protected by Bahia Ballena, the largest bay on the south-eastern peninsula, and there are often whale sightings in the bay. Being so sheltered, the beaches are ideal for swimming, surfing and kayaking.
