If you’re in search of a great hike, whether it’s a flatland hike through a garden or a strenuous hike to the summit of a mountain, the Parque Nacional Chirripó is the place for you. Chirripó is the principal mountain park in Costa Rica, having dozens of mountains that reach over 3000metres. The most famous and popular is Cerro Chirripó at 3820metres. Even with all the rain and lakes, the area is hot and dry and there are no accommodations or facilities. You’ll need to bring your own food and water.
