Borbón is a lumber port. Its main attractions are the settlements of Afro-Ecuadorians and the indigenous Chachi. From here you can visit the Reserva Ecológica Cotacachi-Cayapas, which is accessible by boat through the Rio Cayapas and Rio San Miguel. There are basic lodging facilities available for overnight stays. You can travel to Borbón by bus from Esmeraldas or San Lorenzo, or take the boat from San Miguel.
