Jipijapa is a hill station, surrounded by agricultural fields, guarded by some scary looking ceibas. The lively part of the town is the Sunday market where vendors come down to sell their fish and vegetables. The paja toquilla of this market is quite popular among locals.

Getting there
There is a bus terminal just on the outskirts from where you can travel to Portoviejo, Manta, Puerto López, Guayaquil and Quito.
