Tonchigüe is a small fishing village, 3km west of Same. It shares the same grey sand beach as Same. There are a number of decent accommodations, although they can be quite expensive. Budget accommodations are further inland, away from the beach, nearer the highway. There are regular rancheras that will take you from Esmaraldas to Tonchigüe
