This village seems like it should be located somewhere in Russia. The road going into the village gives you a completely different experience of the country. The roads are quite steep and dangerous, going up all the way to the heady heights of the mountains, and then all the way down again. The surroundings are also quite dangerous, they're prone to mudslides. So it is advisable for you to learn about the route first before driving there.

Sightseeing
The most notable place here would be the Andean Bear Conservation Project, which is known for bear trackers. The place is great for hiking, you‘ll get to pass through beautiful, remote forests all the way. Research is also done here to preserve nature. If you are interested in this field, you can sign up as a volunteer. Another spot here is the Siempre Verde, another research station which is dedicated to tropical conservation education. This centre is also popular for bird watching, but you need to make advanced arrangements before coming here. Last but not least, you can also visit the Intag Cloud Forest Reserve, run by the Defense and Ecological Conservation for Intag. You can easily arrange for tours here in Quito.
