If you're ready for a little peace and quiet on your trip to Ecuador, after all of the hustle and bustle of daily markets and popular tourism spots, you might want to hop off the bus for a couple of hours at Sucúa. Just 23 kilometres south of Macas, on the main road, Sucúa has little more to offer than ficus trees and cicadas. But if you're looking for the best seafood and small town accommodations in the country, you'll find them here. The only hotel is stylish and inexpensive, and the restaurants serve up some mean, spicy butterfly shrimp.
