Located on the northern side of the extinct Pasochoa Volcano, this reserve is known for the wide variety of flora, thanks to the multilevel altitudes ranging from 2900m to 4200m. It is pretty small in size, but it houses some of the most important things in the country, including the last remaining Andean forests, and hundreds of species of birds. Some of the more common plant species that grow here are the Podocarpaceae, ferns, lichens, orchids, bromeliads and pine trees.
