For those more interested in nature and volunteering than in surfing, you’ll want to skip Montañita and head straight for the town of Manglaralto. A short and sweet 5-kilometre stroll down the beach from Montañita, the town has several opportunities to learn and to get involved. Manglarato also serves as the base camp for overnight tours to some remote coastal villages—including your meals, lodging and mules. There are a couple of restaurants and quaint hotels that offer diving lessons, kayaking and other activities to keep the guests entertained.
