When you’re in a country that’s been crowned for its succulent seafood, you had better visit the town that tops the list of best places to wine and dine. In Ecuador, there’s no better place for seafood than Puerto Bolivar, just 7 kilometres from Machala. Located on the coast, Puerto Bolivar is the last stop for Ecuador’s bananas and shrimp before they are shipped overseas. Although it has the best seafood in Ecuador, you probably shouldn’t visit the town after dark since it has few accommodations. Puerto Bolivar is the base for trips to the island of Jambeli.
