If you need a pit stop on the long hike or drive to La Cruz or Los Pinos, Berlín is the perfect place to stop and take a rest. The small town is just ten minutes from Alegria and serves as the gateway to both the La Cruz and Los Pinos trailheads. However, you can get to both places by using Alegria as a base camp too. Berlín has one hotel that's charming and inexpensive with hot running water but no private bathrooms, and you can either eat at the hotel or at the one local restaurant.
