When you're in El Salvador you'll be looking for plenty of time on the beach, both ocean-side and bay-side, and there's no better place to experience both than at Playa El Tamarindo. Tamarindo is the most popular of the beaches near La Unión and is frequented by tourists taking day trips from Carr Litoral. You'll find some yummy fried fish and other foods on the beach, but the hotel is nothing to rave about, although it does have a restaurant. Unless you have to the spend the night, you should make it a day trip and stay either by Carr Litoral or in La Unión.
