If you’re looking for a truly remote beach experience, far away from the packed sands of Playa El Tamarindo, you can head down to Playa Jaguey. Since there are no signs you’ll need to ask your bus driver to let you off—he’ll know where to stop. From there, you’ll head down to the beach and lay out your towel amongst few other people—locals who own the beachfront houses, probably. There are no facilities or accommodations on Jaguey and the bodegas sell mostly chips and soda so remember to bring water and make it a day trip.
