The small hillside town of La Palma is located some 84km north of San Salvador and most of the people who come here are those travelling to Honduras via El Poy. It is beautifully surrounded by mountains and the fresh mountain air is a real treat. Despite its small size it has some nice things to offer, including all the basic facilities such as banks, Internet access and shops.

Getting there
You can drive to this village or you can take the bus. The bus leaves from San Salvador’s Terminal de Oriente. This bus service actually travels to El Poy, but it stops in La Palma. The trip takes about three hours.
