Located near the Guatemalan border, this town is mostly used as a gateway to the Parque Nacional Montecristo-El Trifinio, which is one of the country’s best parks.

Around and closeby
The Parque Nacional Montecristo-El Trifinio is nearby but you'll still need a 4WD to reach it and to get around inside. During the animal breeding season, from May to November, the park is closed.

Getting there
You can get to this town by bus from San Salvador. There are also buses twice a day to and from Citalá.
