This national park is very unique because it spreads across the borders of three different countries; El Salvador, Honduras and Guatemala. The El Trifinio point is very significant because it's here that all three countries meet, about 2418m above sea level on the Cerro Montecristo. The beautiful national park, on the Salvadorian side, is in fact one of the best in the country. The park is known for its uniquely located cloud forest and the humid weather which keeps the place cool and wet all the time. Some of the most important trees here are the oak and laurel, along with various plants such as orchids, mushrooms, lichens, mosses, tree ferns and many more.
