El Estor, a small town on the western side of Lago de Izabal, is a great base to explore the surrounding area. The lake is simply breathtaking but there's more to see than just that. There's an amazing hot spring, a waterfall, the massive Boquerón canyon and the wetlands of the Reserva Bocas del Polochic.

Getting there
To reach this idyllic place you have to catch a boat at Livingston and sail along the Rio Dulce until you get to the Lago de Izabal. The boats will pull in here so that you can hop off.
