This small town, located to the east of the Mexican border, is a very busy commercial town, famous for coffee processing. The busiest part of the town is focused on the bus terminal area, for the town is a major transportation hub, catering to the entire region. Since it is a border town, the buses to the Mexican border and Quetzaltenango are very busy. Most of the time people do not come here to stay but they just drop by on their way across the border. The town has many commercial centres, including banks and moneychangers, so you will not have to worry about your foreign exchange for sure!
