Puerto San Carlos is famously known as a deep water port and a fishing town, and is located on Bahia Magdalena, about 56km west of Ciudad Constitución. This small town is also famous for whale watching, especially when the ballenas come in January to calve in the warm lagoon. Travellers come here just for this reason, and from January to March, the place is filled with them. Pangueros on these days take up to six people for whale watching trips.
Getting there
Just like other coastal towns in this country, this town is also accessible conveniently by road. Buses run daily from La Paz, Ciudad Constitución, and Calle Puerto Morelos.
