The pretty little village of Ajijic has a very North American feel to it. Seventy kilometres to the west of Chapala, Ajijic has cobbled streets, whitewashed houses and leafy, shaded plazas. There are many art galleries displaying local works and also lots of shops selling beautiful, handcrafted items.

You can reach Ajijic by bus or taxi from Chapala.
