The very religious town of San Juan de los Lagos is a major pilgrimage site for many Mexicans. If you’re arriving in town during a religious holiday then it’s best to call ahead and make a reservation as the accommodation fills up fast.

Sightseeing
There is some beautiful colonial architecture around town, including the fabulous twin-towered church with its red, yellow and blue tiled dome.

Getting there
Buses travelling between Aguascalientes and Guadalajara can drop you off at the entrance to town.
