The term Tingambato refers to two things, one is the ruins of a ceremonial site and the other is the village near it. But don’t worry, both are in the same place some 30km from Uruapan on the road to Pátzcuaro. Apparently this site was established about 1100 to 1500 years ago and was built with Teotihuacán influence. The site is not very big but it still has certain things to offer, such as the small complex which includes a ball court, a small pyramid and an underground tomb. If you want to learn more you can also visit the small museum there, which displays some artefacts and photos.
