Known for the strawberries and potatoes around here, the town of Zamora is indeed the centre for some good agricultural products. It’s located about 115km north-west of Uruapan and 190km south-east of Guadalajara. The town is very friendly towards pedestrians, as there are plenty of walking areas around the central plaza.

Sightseeing
The plaza is a must-visit on Sundays, because there is live music in the bandstand. If you are into shopping, then you can visit the market which sells the city’s famously tasty dulces, or sweets. It lacks natural attractions here, but there are plenty of man-made attractions worth visiting. These include the Neo-Gothic Cathedral Inconclusa, which was started in 1898 and is yet to be finished! In fact this small city has many other inordinate churches to visit too, dating back to centuries ago. The only natural attraction is the Laguna de Camécuaro, which is located about fifteen kilometres south-west of town, at Tangancícuaro. This beautiful place has many trees and flowers and is an ideal spot for resting and picnicking.
