Hidalgo del Parral is a city in the Chihuahua state. It was once a bustling centre for silver mining but, after the end of the silver mining boom, Parral was almost completely abandoned. It is now a small city mainly dedicated to commerce.

Sightseeing
Visit the beautifully restored Palacio Alvarado, tours are free and it's well worth seeing.

Getting there
There are regular buses arriving here from Chihuahua and Durango.
