Torreón is a city in the state of Coahuila. If you’re not interested in history then this town doesn’t really have much else to offer. The central plaza is shaded and pleasant to wandered around, a good place to start if you want to explore the surrounding desert region.

Tourist Offices
Five kilometres east of the central plaza, at Paseo de la Rosita, 308D, there is a very helpful information office.

Sightseeing
Cristo de las Noas is the second biggest Christian Sanctuary in Latin America, it is the image of Jesus with extended arms, symbolising protection for the inhabitants of Torreón. It is situated on the top of a hill. On this hill, named Las Noas, there is a Catholic church from where you can get a birdseye view of the entire city.

Getting there
There are regular buses arriving here from Chihuahua, Durango, Mexico City, Saltillo and Zacatecas.
