This island village is believed to be the original homeland of the Aztec people, and historically speaking, the first settlement took place 1500 years back. Today it is a modest shrimping town, with the men of the village bringing their netted prize of shrimp home every evening from the interiors of the wetland. As a tourist you will most likely come across shrimps strewn all over the place. No, it’s not under shrimp attack, the village people keep them for drying. It is a nice, quiet village that is good for a night halt.
