The city has nothing much to offer to tourists seeking natural retreats, but it is nicely spread out and walking the streets around the central plaza is very enjoyable. The main reason people come here is for the popular sulphur springs, an attraction for both locals and foreigners. The climate in Cuautla is pleasant all year around.

History and Culture
One of the first Mexican leaders, José Maria Morelos y Pavon and his army were based in Cuautla. In 1812, the royalist army took over and they were forced out. After a century, again the city became the base for another revolutionary army of Emiliano Zapata, which reformed the city in many ways. Due to the developments, things changed, and the railroad was brought in in the early 20th century.

Getting there
You can take buses or combis. There are numerous bus companies travelling from various places into Cuautla.
