Being a tourist town, Ixtapan de la Sal provides entertainment for both adults and kids. Most of the people who come here stop to go to the water and spend time with their kids. This is mainly because the prime attraction here in the town is the Ixtapan Balaneario and the Spa y Parque Acuático. It is a water park mixing curative thermal water pools with waterfalls, water slides, a wave pool, and a miniature railway.

Around and closeby
Further south on Hwy 55 is another smaller town of Tonatico, which has its own public water park as well. It's far less crowded than Ixtapan de la Sal, which allows more relaxation space for visitors.

These two places are easily accessible by road, especially with the taxi and bus services available everywhere.
