Malinalco is a famous historical site located about 22km east of Tenancingo. This is in fact one of the highly important places in Mexico, because the few reasonably well preserved Aztec temples are all here. The site is accessible by foot, with just a 1km footpath west of the plaza, well maintained for tourists. The summit gives a very good view of the valley, and the beautiful scenery has always been a favorite of many painters.

History and Culture
Looking back at the history, the Aztecs conquered the lands about 500 years ago, and they built ritual centres , they themselves were then conquered by the Spanish

Sightseeing
There’s a 16th century Augustinian convent facing the plaza. There are really beautiful frescoes fashioned from herb and flower based paints covering the cloister.
