Sightseeing
Known for its culture and history, Tepotzotlán boasts places like the Museo Nacional del Virreinato (or National Museum of the Viceregal Period), and the Capilla Domestica. The museum is comprised of the restored Jesuit Iglesia de San Francisco Javier and a monastery. Normally crowded on Sundays it’s a place known for its display of folk and fine art collections, such as silver chalices, pictures created from inlaid wood, porcelain, furniture, and fine religious paintings and statues. Tepotzotlán is also known for its extreme Churrigueresque architecture, which can be seen outside and inside the church.
Getting there
It is located just beyond Mexico City’s urban brawl and it is accessible by cars and buses, making a suitable place for tourists and visitors to hang out both during the day and at night. It’s easily accessible, simply because it’s en route from Mexico City to Queretaro.
